The focus of this project was to both capture the experience of sailing and recontextualize utilitarian elements from sailing and transform them into a consumer soft good. The bag features a rigid outer leather “hull” with a removable inner recycled sail duffle, mimicking the physical construction of a sailboat. The bag serves as a weekender when full, but can also be rolled into a smaller purse to mimic the effect of rolled sail carried underarm.
