Artist Biography
Lucas Buckwell is a Miami based fashion designer whose work focuses on creating sculpture for the body. He draws inspiration from his local environment, including the idyllic sailing and nautical culture of South Florida, conversation on global warming which plagues the region, and the multicultural atmosphere of both Miami and his Mexican-British home. Lucas hopes to increasingly blend philosophy into his apparel design, using philosophy-based solutions to tackle social and environmental problems within the garment and textile industries and using his designs to describe abstract philosophical concepts.

His work has appeared in several local Miami fashion shows including the Art To Wear show hosted by the Doral Contemporary Art Museum and the Design Lab Give Africa Benefit Show.
