A funeral for a wedding, this collection honors the importance of the unions that have shaped our present day.
This collection draws inspiration from heritage, exploring what it means to be shaped by generations of familial history. Using the metaphor of a funeral, the collection mourns the attempted severance of these cultural unions from the American identity. Inspired by my grandparents’ coming of age, the collection blends the silhouettes of 1960s Britain and Mexico with a weathered twist. By using experimental silhouettes and materials contrasted against traditional techniques, I hope to create tension between the past and future.
